Last night we attended a meeting of the Israeli Drupal community at The Hub TLV. Aviv is the one who first heard of the meeting and it seemed like a good idea, especially because we’re still looking to hire developers. Drupal is the open source Content Management System we’re using for Swacle.
The Hub TLV is located in a charming space with a beautiful balcony on the top floor of Bet Maariv. We didn’t know much about Hubs before yesterday, but it turns out there are other Hubs in major cities all over the world. Hubs are places which the likes of us can work out of instead of the more isolated-yet-common neighborhood cafe. It’s a great idea and is meant to “support enterprising initiatives for a better world.” That’s us!!! The Hub TLV could provide us with a home base for important meetings, so we’re going to try and join on a regular basis. Office space has been a challenge for Swacle as a team and for the time being we’ve settled on working out of my apartment, but The Hub TLV has a large meeting room which would be perfect for our focus groups and usability testing in August. There was also a great hammock on the balcony which looked like it had our name written all over it…

Great to meet you all!
The hub is really nice, but it is a shame that they allow people to smoke in balcony; the smoke is getting inside the inner place and the balcony itself cannot be used by people who don’t want to get polluted…
